MWD Supplier KM Services Welcomes Richard Barnes as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Michael Cheatwood as Vice President of Marketing & Sales

MWD Supplier KM Services is pleased to announce, as of April 25, 2011, the addition of Richard Barnes as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Michael Cheatwood as Vice President of Marketing & Sales to our management team. Additionally, we regretfully announce that Patrick Rannals, while maintaining his partnership interest in the company, is stepping down as President and other operational roles with the company effective May 29, 2011. Upon Mr. Rannals departure, Mr. Barnes will additionally serve as President of the company. We wish Mr. Rannals much success in his future endeavors.
Mr. Barnes brings over 20 years of operational and financial experience to KM Services. Trained in Six Sigma and Lean techniques, his career is highlighted by a relentless effort to strategically improve, both organically and externally, operational performance. Prior to joining KM Services, Mr. Barnes served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MIC Group, a contract, high precision machining manufacturer serving Fortune 500 companies worldwide. During his four year tenure, MIC initiated, completed and integrated three strategic acquisitions that increased company revenues 115% on a full year-over-year basis, divested of an under-performing consumer products manufacturing facility in Wisconsin, successfully managed the company through the 2009 recessionary decline in industrial manufacturing, and initiated and completed start-up manufacturing operations, including setting up the corporate structures, in Malaysia and Singapore. Mr. Barnes earned an undergraduate degree in Accounting from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas where he was also inducted into Alpha Chi, a national academic honor society. He has also been awarded the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations. Please join us in welcoming Richard to our organization.
Mr. Cheatwood joins KM Services with 17 years of technical sales, marketing and business development experience which he gained from the metal working, industrial manufacturing and DC Power Systems industries. Having served as Sales & Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager, Mr. Cheatwood’s career is highlighted by partnering with Frito Lay as a vendor of choice on National Rollout Programs of custom packaging components which he helped develop. In 2008, after Hurricane Ike, Mr. Cheatwood was selected as lead vendor on behalf of DC Power Systems for Exxon O&A and Entergy, and received the Dick Townsend Excellence Award from Exxon as part of the Safety, Quality and Productivity Recovery Team. Mr. Cheatwood lives in Friendswood, Texas with his wife, Yvette, of 17 years and their 3 children, and attended The University of Houston Clear Lake where he majored in Accounting.
